You will need to go to this site https://immigration.gov.vn/web/guest/trang-chu-ttdt to apply for an E-Visa to enter Vietnam. It takes roughly 1-2 weeks to be processed. Obviously, the sooner the better. The cost is ~ $50 CAD.

We would recommend that you see a doctor before traveling for necessary vaccination.

Vietnam’s time difference can take a little getting used to, so don’t underestimate the jet lag. If you believe sleeping pills may help you adjust, please consult your doctor beforehand to ensure they are safe and appropriate for you.

To get around the cities in Vietnam, just download and set up the Grab app in your phone before coming to Vietnam. It's equivalent to Uber/Lyft, easy to use with reasonable price. Or if you want to be more adventurous, you can rent a scooter and drive around to fully experience the city. I can give additional details when you get there.

Download the app Airalo to buy data to use in Vietnam, contact me and I will send you a referral code for a discount. You will need it mostly to book Grab, to use Google map, or when you're outside. Otherwise, you would be surprised that free wifi is available everywhere in the restaurants, coffee shops, stores, malls, sometimes even on a street food place. Don't be shy and just ask for a wifi password, it might be even written on your table.
